Privacy Policy

WordWizKid collects only the minimum information necessary to provide the app's features. This falls into two categories:

  Profile Information (stored locally on your device only) The student's name, grade level, location (optional), and profile picture (optional). This information is entered voluntarily during onboarding or in Edit Profile. It is stored exclusively on the device using Apple's UserDefaults and the device file system. It is never transmitted to FigSoft Computing, third parties, or any remote server.

  Quiz & Progress Data (stored locally on your device only) Quiz session results, scores, and word-level performance data are saved locally on the device so the student can track their progress over time. This data is never sent anywhere outside the device.

  Feedback (sent via iOS Mail, if you choose to submit it) If you tap Send Feedback and submit the form, the app opens the iOS Mail app with a pre-composed email containing your name, location, grade, star rating, and comments. This email is sent directly from your device's Mail account to FigSoft Computing. We do not intercept or store this email through any server of our own — it is handled entirely by your iOS Mail provider.

  No analytics or trackingWe do not use any third-party analytics SDK (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.).

  No advertisingWordWizKid contains no advertisements and does not integrate any advertising network or share data with advertisers.

  No internet-based data collectionThe app operates fully offline. No data is uploaded to any server at any point during normal use.
• 🔑
  No account or login requiredWordWizKid does not require you to create an account. No email address or password is collected for app access.
• 📍
  No location servicesThe app does not access GPS or device location. The "location" field in the profile is a free-text field typed by the user and stored only on-device.

WordWizKid may request the following device permissions. All are optional and used only for the stated purpose:

  Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription) Used only if the student or parent taps "Take Photo" in Edit Profile to capture a profile picture. Images are saved locally on the device and are never uploaded.

  Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription) Used only if the student or parent taps "Choose from Photo Library" to select a profile picture. The selected image is saved locally on the device and is never uploaded.
• 🔊
  Speech Synthesis (no special permission required) The app uses Apple's on-device AVSpeechSynthesizer to read words, sentences, stories, and poems aloud. No audio is recorded or transmitted.

WordWizKid is designed for children from Kindergarten through Grade 5 and takes children's privacy very seriously.

  No personal data collected from children without parental involvement All profile information is entered by a parent or guardian during initial setup. The app does not directly solicit personal information from children during use.
• 📵
  No behavioural tracking of children We do not track, profile, or monitor how individual children use the app beyond the progress data they generate locally on their own device.
• 🌍
  Compliance We believe this app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and relevant children's data protection provisions of the GDPR and UK GDPR, given that no personal data is transmitted off-device.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the app in a way not described here, please contact us immediately at the address below so we can investigate and address the concern.

All data stored by WordWizKid (profile, quiz history, progress) lives only on the device. You can delete this data at any time:

  Clear quiz dataMore → Data → Clear All Quiz Data removes all quiz sessions and results.

  Uninstall the appDeleting WordWizKid from the device permanently removes all locally stored data, including your profile and progress history.

Since no data is stored on our servers, there is nothing for FigSoft Computing to delete on your behalf beyond what you can do directly on the device.

WordWizKid does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or social media plugins.

The app relies solely on Apple's own frameworks (SwiftUI, AVFoundation, MessageUI, PhotosUI) and the iOS operating system. Your use of those underlying platform features is subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app's features evolve or legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

For significant changes — such as the introduction of any server-side data collection — we will provide additional notice within the app itself before those changes take effect.

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data held about you. Since WordWizKid stores all data locally on the device and sends nothing to our servers, you can exercise these rights directly:
